Range 1 ($5,949.45 – $9,691.03) per month based on the current https://www.sdccd.edu/docs/HumanResources/employee relations/Salary Schedules/Supervisory & Professional Employees' Association 2024.pdf. New to district employees will begin on step A ($5,949.45). Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA . SDCCD offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the SPAA – Supervisory & Professional Administrators Association Handbook. This position is FLSA Exempt and may not accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment. Under the direction of Facilities leadership, the Custodial Supervisor II is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising custodial operations across assigned campus locations. This role ensures that facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition that supports a positive learning and working environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The supervisor oversees daily custodial activities, develops work schedules, and ensures compliance with district standards, safety regulations, and established procedures.

 

The Custodial Supervisor II provides direct supervision, training, and evaluation of custodial staff, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and supporting professional development. This position plays a key role in coordinating cleaning services, responding to facility needs, and collaborating with other Facilities and Operations teams to ensure efficient service delivery. The supervisor may also assist in implementing preventative maintenance practices, managing supplies and equipment, and maintaining accurate records and reports related to custodial operations. 

In addition, the Custodial Supervisor II supports continuous improvement efforts by promoting effective work practices, ensuring quality control, and maintaining strong communication with campus stakeholders. The role requires the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, respond to changing operational needs, and foster a collaborative and customer-service-oriented team environment. This position contributes directly to the overall mission of the District by helping maintain facilities that are welcoming, functional, and conducive to student success. 

Applications are currently being accepted for TWO Facilities Supervisor / Custodial II in the Operations, Enterprise Services, and Facilities Services, located at the College of Continuing Education. Hours are: 

 

1st shift AM Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM 

2nd shift PM Monday through Thursday 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM, and Friday 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM 

 

Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department’s needs.

 

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Desired Qualifications: 

 

Knowledge: 

 

• Basic Blueprint reading.

• Modern custodial methods, materials, chemicals, disinfectants, hand tools, and equipment.

• Operation and use of computers and basic software applications necessary for area of specialty.

• Oral and written communications skills.

• Overall knowledge of air-conditioning, lighting, heating, and plumbing systems.

• Principles of effective supervision and training.

• Sanitation and safety measures used in the operation, cleaning, and care of equipment and work areas, including handling of hazardous materials.

 

Skills and Abilities: 

 

• Analyze situations and adopt effective course of action. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

• Establish and meet schedules and time lines.

• Estimate and order materials and supplies needed.

• Lift up to 65 pounds.

• Maintain accurate and current records.

• Maintain effective working relationships.

• Plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise the work of a custodial staff.

• Train and supervise personnel.

• Understand and follow oral and written directions.

 

Training and Experience: 

 

• Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: one year of full-time supervisory experience at the level of Custodial Crew Leader or three years of full-time experience as a Custodian in combination with one-year full-time supervisory experience in any job setting.

 

License:Valid California driver’s license. 

 

Foreign Degree:

SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT : 

 

• Submit “official” college transcripts as stated on application (even if a degree is not a requirement for this position);

• Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment);

• Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the District’s expense (Clearance must be received prior to first day of employment);

• Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States as required by the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form; AND ,

• Attend a new hire processing appointment in People, Culture, and Technology Services located at the District Administrative Offices.

 

EMPLOYMENT AFTER RETIREMENT
