We are an FQHC community health center dedicated to embodying the values central to American Indian cultures. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will function as a member of a team of health professionals providing medical services at the San Diego American Indian Health Center. The NP shall, under appropriate direction and supervision by the medical director in collaboration with the SDAIHC Clinic Manager, provide care, assessment, interpretation of data, and develop and implement therapeutic care plans. Nurse Practitioner will be expected to see 14-16 patients per day, serving in the San Diego County area, the facility is part of our health center that includes Medical, Dental.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform all job-related activities as outlined below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Functions:
1. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of nursing process in addressing needs of patients.
1. Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient population.

4. The Family Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice Registered Nurse with additional preparation and skills in physical diagnosis, psycho-social assessment, and management of health needs in primary health care, and who possesses the ability to assist the health status in individuals and families.
5. The FNP provides for the continuity of healthcare to patients, provides instruction and counseling to individuals, families and groups concerning preventive health care.
6. collaborates with other providers and agencies to assure the provision of coordination of health care delivery to individuals and families.
7. The FNP functions within the scope of practice as authorized for the RN pursuant to Business and Professions Code, Division 2, Chapter 6.
8. The FNP functions within the scope of practice as specified in the Nursing Practice Act and as it applies to all Registered Nurses.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Current CA Nurse Practitioner licensure.
2. National Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in area of specialty
3. 1 Year recent experience providing primary care or urgent care in a clinic setting.
4. Experience in a medical staff leadership role, such as medical staff department or committee chairman, preferred.

Preferred:
1. Experience serving a multinational, multicultural population.
2. FQHC background.
3. Familiarity with Community Health Clinics and/or Indian Health Clinics.
3. ECW EHR.

Special Conditions of Employment:
1. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
2. CPR/ BLS certification: Maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), or an equivalent organization. Certification must include an in-person, hands-on skills assessment. Online-only certifications are not accepted.
3. Annual background checks: Consent to annual background checks as a condition of continued employment, to ensure compliance with organizational standards and eligibility requirements.
4. For-Cause Drug Screening: Comply with drug screening requirements when initiated by the organization for cause, to support a safe, compliant, and drug-free workplace.
5. Ongoing Compliance Requirements: Maintain up-to-date compliance with all required annual renewals, including professional licenses, certifications, physical examinations, TB testing, and mandatory regulatory trainings as assigned by the San Diego American Indian Health Center (SDAIHC.

4. Uses all appropriate equipment and/or tools to ensure workplace safety.
5. Immediately reports unsafe working conditions.

1. Maintains privacy and security of all patients, employee, and volunteer information and access to such information. Such information is accessed on a need-to-know basis for business purposes only.

Flexibility: Available for all shifts and, when required, able to work evenings and weekends
