What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at San Carlos Healthcare Corporation?
This position is responsible for patient meal service utilizing a program to take orders. Responsibilities include transport, delivery and retrieval of completed food trays to patients. Tracking diet orders and communicating to Dietitian about diet orders and changes. May produce baby formula and provide nutritional supplements to patients.
Essential Functions:

Delivers and picks up trays from patient’s room.

Works closely with patients in a hospital environment.

Capable of communicated effectively with patients.

Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret age appropriate data about the patient’s status in order to identify age-specific needs and provide the care needed.

Familiar with HACCP standards

Capable of recognizing a nutritionally balanced meal.

Able to read patient’s name and room location and correctly identify patient for tray delivery.

Able to Accurately assembles trays per menus for the following diets:

Regular
-
Soft/Low Residue/Bland

Renal
-
Low Sodium
-
Cardiac
-
Low Fat
-
Pureed
-
Lactose Restricted
-
Diabetic
-
Combination Diets

Demonstrates the ability to follow direction and work independently

Assists with portioning of foods for patients.
