Job Overview

We are seeking a professional, friendly, and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and administrative support. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced dental environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming and positive experience.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments efficiently.
  • Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits accurately.
  • Present treatment plans, discuss financial arrangements, and answer patient questions regarding insurance coverage.
  • Collect payments, process billing transactions, and manage accounts receivable when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries professionally, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Coordinate patient intake, registration, and check-out procedures.
  • Send appointment reminders and follow up with patients regarding scheduled treatment.
  • Collaborate with dentists, hygienists, and clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with general office administration and front desk duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a dental office is preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, ADA codes, treatment planning, and insurance billing procedures is preferred.
  • Experience with dental practice management software is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) or Spanish is highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
