The California Children's Services (CCS) section of the Department of Public Health (DPH) is recruiting for a Supervising Pediatric Rehabilitation Therapist I to supervise the day-to-day work of Therapists and plan and implement therapy programs for the physical and occupational rehabilitation of children at medical therapy units. Duties include chart utilization reviews, quality assurance, and policy and procedure development; establishing and maintaining tracking systems to meet state guidelines; supervising and evaluating staff work performance and staff productivity; conducting staff conferences; advising therapists on treatment options; associating and corroborating with the school personnel, physicians and providers; engaging in the provision of team-centered care; and planning and implementing therapy programs for children with neurological and/or orthopedic impairments.

Licensure: Applicants must meet one of the following licensure options:
- Option 1: Possess and maintain a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California (PTBC), -or-
- Option 2: Possess and maintain a valid license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (BOT).
- AND -
- Option A: One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience as a licensed Physical Therapist or a licensed Occupational Therapist in a California Children's Services program, -or-
- Option B: Two (2) years of full-time experience as a licensed Physical Therapist or licensed Occupational Therapist in a rehabilitation setting.
Supervisory experience leading licensed Physical and/or Occupational Therapists is highly desirable (i.e., hiring, firing, counseling, disciplinary actions, assigning work, completing work performance evaluations, developing work schedules and approving time off).
Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
