What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Property Agent II - Acquisitions position at San Bernardino County?
The Real Estate Services Department is seeking a Real Property Agent II to join the Acquisitions Division. We are looking for experienced real estate professionals who are committed to customer satisfaction and who can successfully deliver projects in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Real Property Agents II are responsible for negotiating and acquiring real property in support of public projects, including those involving eminent domain and other County purposes. Incumbents perform complex and sensitive acquisition work involving a wide range of property types, including commercial, residential, vacant, and encumbered properties (such as easements for conservation, flood control, and roadway right-of-way).
Key responsibilities include negotiating acquisition agreements; analyzing and interpreting contracts; reviewing appraisals, engineering plans, maps, title reports, and legal documents; and coordinating the relocation of residential and business occupants in compliance with eminent domain laws and regulations. Work is performed in support of County public improvement projects and requires sound judgment, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.

Qualified candidates must meet the education requirement and experience requirement as listed below.
EXPERIENCE | Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional real estate experience involving the negotiation of real property acquisitions in a commercial setting. Note: Qualifying experience must be in mixed use, office, industrial, or retail environment. Residential experience is not considered qualifying. |
| EDUCATION | Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in real estate, public/business administration, economics, or other closely related field. Education Substitution: One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may substitute the education requirement. |
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of and experience in negotiating and acquiring real property for public purposes, including projects subject to eminent domain laws, and hold a bachelor’s degree in real estate, public or business administration, or a closely related field.

Salary : $73,694 - $101,254
