SALARY: $5,858.00 to $7,138.00 Monthly (Range 81)
LENGTH OF SERVICE: 260 Days/12 Months per Year

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA) Technician performs specialized fiscal and programmatic transactions associated with the MAA program. The Medi-Cal Administrative Activities Technician assists in the organization and oversight of the Local Educational Consortium (Region 10) MAA program in organizing, implementing and monitoring the day-to-day activities associated with a regional system for claiming Medi-Cal reimbursement for eligible administrative activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Assists staff in the administration of the Local Education Consortium MAA program;
· Provides support and guidance to program participants, including internal departments and external school districts;
· Coordinates facilities, audio/visual equipment, and related support services for assigned MAA events including audits, trainings, meetings, and workshops;
· Develops and maintains files, databases, records, reports, agendas, presentation information, spreadsheets, and other forms of correspondence;
· Attends and participates in regional MAA meetings;
· Develops training materials and conducts training presentations;
· Coordinates with participating claiming units to ensure compliance and implementation of the MAA program;
· Participates in the audit of MAA program operational plans;
· Coordinates the dissemination of MAA policies and procedures to local educational agencies;
· Prepares, maintains, and submits detailed quarterly invoices to funding agencies;
· Reconciles receipt of reimbursement funding and distribution of funds to local educational agencies within the region;
· Processes requisitions and other financial transactions in support of the MAA program;
· Analyzes financial data, contracts, regulations and reports;
· Performs related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience performing complex accounting and/or budgeting procedures with the Medi-Cal program or the Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA) program, facilitating trainings/workshops;
Skill in the performance of mathematical calculations, operation of computer software applications, reconciling and processing financial transactions, and preparation of spreadsheets and databases;
Knowledge of Medi-Cal policies, regulations, and guidelines, general office procedures and fiscal processes, English grammar and usage, budgeting, billing, and invoice processes;
Ability to exercise sound judgment, meet established timelines, work accurately and independently, communicate effectively in verbal and written form, work effectively with a variety of individuals and groups, maintain accurate records, travel to various locations;
Physical Abilities include sitting for extended periods, reaching, fine manual dexterity, pulling, talking/hearing, and near and far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field of vision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Two (2) years experience performing complex accounting and/or budgeting procedures, including experience with the Medi-Cal program or the Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA) program;
· One (1) year experience processing financial transactions (i.e., requisitions, invoices);
· One (1) year experience creating and managing databases;
· One (1) year experience organizing and facilitating workshops;
· Possession of a high school diploma (or its equivalency) or higher or possession of a GED.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Additional experience performingcomplex accounting and/or budgeting procedures;
· One (1) year of fiscal experience in a California school district or County Office of Education.
