Job Description
San Bernardino Community College District accepts applications for Federal Work Study, hourly positions for our San Bernardino Valley College on a continuous basis. However, this does not imply the department is actively recruiting for this position. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the requirements will be contacted by the respective department manager. Applications submitted will remain active for up to one (1) year.

 Student workers will assist in providing general support and assistance to staff. Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.

Position Summary
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with digitizing past student records
- Assist with Honors Institute recruiting needs
- Assist in distribution of general program informationÂ
- Assist with Honors events
- Assist with updating records
- Assist in Lounge set up/clean up
- Assist in other clerical tasks as assigned
- Assist in answering student questions
- Serve as a positive role model
- Maintain confidentiality with any shared information.
- Participate in and complete all other duties as assigned.
- Students must have a Federal Work Student award letter for the current academic year
- Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units
- Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Students cannot fall below half-time (6 units) during their employment under the FWS program.Â
- Students must have a minimum of 2.0 GPA
- Students must have a current TB
- Students must be available for at least four hours on Wednesdays & Thursdays
- Students must be able to follow directionsÂ
- Students must be familiar with Word and Excel
- Preference will be given to a current member of the SBVC Honors Program

- Submit to and successfully pass DOJ live scan/fingerprinting. Cost of live-scan services to be borne by candidate.
- Sealed official transcript(s) in envelope from institution or electronic copies emailed directly from institution (for positions with higher education requirement)
- Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment
