Certified Nursing Assistant (SNF Northside) HRC-163

Job Summary

Performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for personal needs and comfort of patients; assists in maintenance of safe and clean environment, to give Quality Nursing Care.                                                          

Responsibilities

•    Assists in preparation of nursing units, patients’ rooms and beds.
•    Assists in and may accompany patient in the admission, transfer, and discharge procedure.
•    Performs personal care services to and for patients in morning, evening, and for general care routines.
•    Performs routine treatment procedures.
•    Assists licensed staff in complicated treatment procedures.
•    Provides general nursing care under the supervision of licensed staff.
•    Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure intake/output measurements.
•    Prepares patient for meals, serves and removes trays, assists with meals or feeds patient.
•    Performs general care activities for patients as prescribed in universal precautions.
•    Answers patient call light, attends to patient needs, and makes rounds to assist patients.
•    Assists patients with handling and care of clothing and other personal property.
•    Collects and transports specimens.
•    Performs special duties required by nursing unit protocol.
•    Participates in and regularly contributes to Nursing Care Plans.
•    Maintains cost containment efforts.
•    Performs assignments in a positive manner.
•    Attends staff meetings and in-service programs.

Required Skills/Abilities 

•    Knowledge of medical terminology.
•    Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
•    Ability to write legibly, spell correctly and do basic mathematics.
•    Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
•    Physical ability to perform all nursing duties which include turning, positioning, and lifting of patients of varied age, size and weight.

Education & Experience

•    High School graduate or equivalency.
•    CPR certification preferred, not required.
•    Current C.N.A Certificate to practice in the State of California. 

Job Type: Full Time, Nights (Temporary - less than 90 days) 

Pay: $26.00 to $35.00 hourly
