We are seeking a reliable, versatile, and energetic individual to fill the dual role of Lead Food Service Worker and Custodian. In this hybrid position, you will split your time between two critical operations that keep our school running smoothly.During meal service, you will lead kitchen staff in preparing, serving, and accounting for healthy student meals. After service, you will shift focus to maintaining a clean and safe environment across the school building. Food Service Leadership Meal Preparation & Service: Lead the daily preparation, cooking, and portioning of breakfast and lunch items following USDA school nutrition standards and standardized recipes. Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict food safety, sanitation, and allergen handling protocols. Maintain accurate daily logs for food temperatures, inventory, and production records. Point of Sale (POS) & Ordering: Assist in operating the cafeteria checkout system, tracking student accounts, and managing basic weekly inventory orders. Custodial & Maintenance Duties Sanitation & Deep Cleaning: Clean, sanitize, and scrub cafeteria tables, kitchen equipment, floors, and food disposal areas immediately following meal service. Facilities Care: Perform general custodial work throughout the school, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash/recycling, and restocking restrooms. Qualifications & SkillsCertification Note: Must possess or be willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler certification (or state equivalent) within 30 days of hire.Experience: 1-2 years of experience in commercial food service, school cafeteria environments, or professional custodial/cleaning roles. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs regularly (e.g., cases of food, large trash bags, or cleaning equipment), and perform repetitive bending, twisting, and reaching.
