Position Summary

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Assign the crew to perform all yard and ground maintenance and supervise their work
2. Ensure the safety of the work crew
3. Assist in performing all yard and ground maintenance
4. Perform basic custodian duties as assigned during inclement weather
5. Supervise the mowing of lawns, planting and care of desirable vegetation and the removal of undesirable
vegetation
6. Supervise the pruning and transplantation of shrubs, plants, trees, and grass
7. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected
for this position.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- 2 years’ experience in lawn care, gardening and/or nursey type work.
- 1-year supervisory experience.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee

Working Conditions
Work Environment:
- Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and
- Grounds equipment: striping machine and air paint sprayer tractor and mower, riding and power mower,
- Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting,
speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
