Essential Functions:
- Coordinate cards and services to ensure food distribution is organized, efficient and meets the needs of the community.
- Oversee the receipt, storage and distribution of pantry goods, ensuring that the pantry is adequately stocked and that food is handled safely.
- Lead distribution of products, documentation and reporting subject to audit.
- Provide training for volunteers related to food safety, service, and pantry procedures.
- Oversee and support volunteers, ensuring they are effectively contributing to the goals of the NBFB, including conducting Civil rights training to ensure compliance with TEFAP guideline.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for neighbors, addressing their needs and providing top notch service.
- Act as an expert for client facing programs such as those made available by FANO.
- Lead neighbor intake, determination of eligibility and re-certification for food assistance.
- Regularly provide feedback to --- with up to date needs of neighbors and recommendations for adjusting or improving services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, partners, volunteers and other constituents.
- Participate in meetings to represent the Food Bank as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, cooler temperature logs, volunteer hours, service logs, poundage of goods and neighbor data as examples.
- Use inventory management and assigned ordering platform to properly stock pantry products.
- Compile, analyze and present client data that are essential for visualizing trends, forecasting client needs, and develop strategies to address food insecurity.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety and non-profit operations.
- Develop and implement strategies, with approval, to promote pantry services and increase community awareness.
- Adress any issues that arise, such as shortages, spoilage, conflicts, etc.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification, operate the forklift and pallet jack as necessary to complete job responsibilities.
- Flexibility of work hours to include after 5pm and weekends as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields such as social work, public health, nonprofit management or a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Experience and commitment to working with diverse and low-income populations.
- Experience recruiting, training or supervising volunteers preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Able to work a flexible work schedule including weekends and holidays
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Retail and Merchandising experience preferred
- Knowledge of hunger & poverty issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual- English & Spanish (Preferred)
- Skills in computer applications i.e., word processing, database management and Excel.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to organize work, time, and self, attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting of deadlines.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and volunteers.
- Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions.
- Must have valid drivers license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record to meet insurance eligibility requirements

This job is performed in an indoor office environment and occasionally may require attendance at outdoor events. You may be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
