General Description:
The Nutrition Education Program Specialist is responsible for assisting the Nutrition Education Program & Curriculum Manager with the coordination and implementation of the Culinary Health Education for Families (CHEF) program with our partner sites. This position also serves as the primary trainer and quality control coordinator for the broader CHEF program. Reporting to the Nutrition Education Program & Curriculum Manager, this position requires a high level of attention to detail, familiarity with databases and Learning Management Systems, designing and facilitating training, and partnership building.
Essential Functions:
Programmatic Responsibilities
- Support the CHEF Program & Curriculum Manager with implementing the CHEF program to partner sites. Duties include new partner onboarding, training, partner relations, communications, troubleshooting, and annual site observations.
- Manage CHEF Online Partner Portal to include adding and removing authorized users and monitoring and managing digital training protocols.
- Assist with the maintenance of comprehensive database of CHEF partnerships and data using Microsoft systems including Power Automate, Power BI, and Excel.
- Identify and cultivate new partner opportunities by responding to inquiries, facilitating outreach communications, scheduling discovery meetings with potential partners, and supporting alignment discussions with the Nutrition Education Program & Curriculum Manager and Director of Community Health & Nutrition Education.
- Serve as the point of contact for logistical and technical support for all CHEF-certified instructors, both internal and external.
Learning and Development Responsibilities
- Facilitate the CHEF Partner Portal migration and maintenance of Learning Management Systems.
- Assist with the development and continuous improvement of partner training materials.
- Build and maintain a structured training program for Train-the-Trainer (TTT) partners in collaboration with the Nutrition Education Program & Curriculum Manager and Director of Community Health & Nutrition Education.
- Conduct and report annual observations of CHEF programming at partner sites to evaluate key indicators of implementation and program fidelity.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
- At least 1 year experience supporting program management, project coordination, or educational program implementation.
- At least 1 year of demonstrable experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Thinkific, LearnDash) or transferable experience with website content management systems, digital asset organization platforms (e.g., SharePoint, WordPress), or eLearning tools used to structure and deliver educational content.
- At least 1 year of demonstrable experience with workflow automation and data management tools (i.e. Excel, SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI)
- 1-3 years of experience designing and facilitating trainings, onboarding programs, or instructional materials for adult learners
- Proficient skills in computer applications (i.e. Microsoft 365)
- Knowledge and experience ensuring compliance with state or federal nutrition programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing, presentations, and partner communication.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Have a current Texas Food Handler’s Permit no later than the first day of work.
- Flexibility in schedule requires working early mornings, weekends, and late evenings.
- Valid Government Issued Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, written and verbal.
- 1-3 years of experience working in a nonprofit, healthcare, or community-based organization setting.
