San Antonio Christian School is seeking a dynamic, experienced and collaborative leader to serve as its Audio Visual Coordinator. Located on a beautiful 71-acre campus, SACS is a non-denominational covenant Christian school with small class sizes and quality academics, coupled with a wide range of art and athletic opportunities which provide students with a Christ-centered education while fostering a life of faith and service.

Audio Visual Coordinator (AV) is responsible for overseeing all audio-visual systems, event production operations and related technologies that support campus wide programs, student life activities, athletic events, and school communications. This role ensures that all sound, video, lighting, and production elements are executed with excellence, reliability, and consistency across all events. In addition, the position provides strategic guidance in evaluating equipment needs, implementing system enhancements, and identifying emerging media opportunities that support and advance the mission of San Antonio Christian School.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB DUTIES COMPETENCIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Campus-wide AV & Event Production

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute audiovisual support for major campus events, including:
    • Chapel services
    • Assemblies and special programs
    • Student events and celebrations
    • Athletic events and ceremonies
  • Oversee event production elements such as sound, projection, lighting, and recording.
  • Coordinate event setup, execution, troubleshooting, and breakdown.
  • Collaborate with principals, directors, and administration.
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team responsible for operating and maintaining scoreboards and related production equipment across campus events and venues.

AV Systems Oversight & Technical Support

  • Serve as the primary point of oversight for campus AV systems and infrastructure.
  • Ensure all AV equipment is maintained, functional, and ready for use.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during events and daily operations.
  • Develop and maintain basic standards and best practices for AV usage across campus.
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty, staff, and students using AV systems.

Technology Planning & System Improvement

  • Advise school leadership on AV-related equipment purchases, upgrades, and system improvements.
  • Assess current technology needs and recommend solutions to support growth and programmatic goals.
  • Coordinate with IT, facilities, and external vendors on installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies for improving campus-wide AV capabilities.
  • Lead & train team utilizing scoreboards across campus.

Media Production & Content Support

  • Support the production of podcasts, recordings, and basic video content for school use.
  • Assist with video blogs, interviews, and event recordings.
  • Provide technical guidance on recording setups, editing workflows, and publishing platforms.
  • Collaborate with communications or leadership teams to support storytelling and institutional messaging through media.

Training, Support, & Collaboration

  • Train and support student workers or volunteers assisting with AV and event production (MS/HS class elective option).
  • Create simple documentation or guides for common AV setups and procedures.
  • Serve as a collaborative partner across departments to enhance the quality and consistency of campus events.
  • Support a culture of excellence, preparedness, and problem-solving in all production environments.
Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Audio/Visual production, Media Technology, or Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in AV systems management or related field preferred.
  • Experience in a school, church, or multi-event environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in live audio mixing, lighting systems, projection, and video production.
  • Working knowledge of livestreaming platforms and recording systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly.
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance and inventory tracking.
  • Availability to work weekend, evening, and away events including minimal overnight events.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity regarding sensitive employee information with discretion, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong technology skills with knowledge of standard software in Microsoft Office and variety of programs.  
  • Acknowledge Christ as Lord and Savior and be an active member of a local evangelical church that aligns with the school’s essential beliefs, Nicene Creed, and statement of faith.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and have reliable transportation.
