Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager for our professional camera and cinema division to lead our technical sales team and drive growth across different product categories and industry verticals. The ideal candidate is a leader with deep industry knowledge and a passion for professional cameras, lighting and cinema technology, with an emphasis on superior customer service. You will be responsible for managing a technical sales team in charge of key accounts, coordinating with manufacturers, and ensuring our team delivers an exceptional client experience through technical expertise, proactive relationship-building, and product support.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
Manage and mentor a team of technical sales experts specializing in professional camera, lighting, cinema, and studio equipment.
Set and track individual and team sales goals; organize ongoing technical product training.
Maintain a collaborative, motivated sales culture focused on client success and team achievement.
Client & Account Management
Foster and grow relationships with key clients, including rental houses, production companies, stages, ecommerce brands, schools, and houses of worship.
Work closely with clients to understand their technical and operational needs, offering tailored solutions and long-term support.
Vendor Relations
Meet regularly with leading manufacturers in professional cameras, cinema and lighting technology to stay informed about industry trends and identify new product opportunities.
Identify trends and review new technologies with your team to recommend and advise your purchasing team as to which products to stock, promote, and feature in store.
Marketing & Events
Interface with Samy’s marketing department to develop campaigns, workshops, artist talks, and demo events that educate and inspire our customers.
Lead in-store promotional efforts including product launches.
Showroom Management
Oversee the operation and presentation of our Los Angeles professional camera, lighting, and cinema office and showroom, ensuring an engaging, informative, and well-maintained space for clients and vendors.
Coordinate with sales team to ensure seamless equipment displays and merchandising.
Qualifications:
4 years’ experience in sales or management in the professional camera, cinema, broadcast, or studio equipment industry. On-set experience is a plus.
Proven ability to lead a sales team and manage high-value accounts in a technical or production-related field.
Strong knowledge of professional cameras, cinema cameras, grip, and lighting technology and workflows.
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
