ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform setup, calibration, and maintenance including lathes.
- Read and interpret specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed.
- Compute dimensions and tolerances. Measure and lay out work pieces.
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers.
- Troubleshoot, debug and modify to achieve expected performance.
- Cross train in other complementary skills, seek endorsements, and move between production assignments that utilize multiple skills needed to support production requirements.
- Maintain a high degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision.
- Lift 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average workday.
- Stand for prolonged periods.
- Operate conventional, manual lathes (vertical or horizontal), mills and balance machines.
- Select proper tools and speeds for the machining process
- Machine and fabricate parts using engine lathes, mills, and drill presses; occasionally may operate grinder.
- Perform machining operations as it relates to production of manufactured parts.
- Perform manual machining duties in a shop setting.
- Communicate job progress to supervisors and customers as needed in a positive, supportive, and timely manner.

- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Detail oriented.
- CNC background a plus but not currently necessary for the job.
