What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loader, Night Shift position at Samuel, Son & Co. 1855?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate material handling equipment.
- Move and stage materials for loading based on shipment schedules
- Operate packaging tools (machine and hand).
- Using RF devices for accurate material tracking.
- Follow verbal and written instructions for loading, safety, and process compliance
- Assists with general warehouse duties as assigned.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous warehouse and forklift/side loader experience.
- High school education or GED desired.
- Good mathematical competencies.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to read a tape measure to the sixteenth. Experience with micrometers and calipers.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliable attendance, be on time for work, and dependable.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, and health & safety.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience using computers.
- Experience with cutting and banding equipment is a plus.
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment including crane and forklift. Must pass evaluation before working independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to spend 80% of the day standing.
- Ability to bend, stoop, push and pull.
- Ability to climb into and out of forklift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs (22.7kg) maximum occasionally with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs (11.3kg).
