Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Housekeeper and Laundry Attendant to join our assisted living family. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of resident rooms, common spaces and resident laundry.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to ensure a pristine environment.
- Handle laundry operations efficiently by washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and resident clothing.
- Maintain cleanliness of common spaces.
- Safely handle chemical agents used for cleaning and sanitation by adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and proper chemical handling procedures.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning equipment for various tasks, including vacuum cleaners, mops, buffers, and floor care tools to achieve optimal results.
- Assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies and laundry detergents while maintaining accurate records of usage.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with knowledge of janitorial practices and floor care techniques.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of laundry bags or cleaning equipment safely.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward residents and guests.
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures involving chemical agents and the safe handling of cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and housekeeping management best practices.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
