Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and personable Host to be the welcoming face of our Samuel Avery's Tavern. As a vital member of our team, you will create a warm, inviting atmosphere for guests from the moment they arrive. Your enthusiasm and excellent communication skills will ensure guests feel valued and comfortable throughout their visit. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your hospitality talents, assist with guest relations, and contribute to a memorable dining experience for all.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly with genuine enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Manage reservation bookings and waitlists efficiently using RESY
• Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and water service
• Maintain a clean, organized host stand and ensure smooth flow of seating arrangements
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize seating times and guest satisfaction
• Assist servers with bussing tables and resetting(tip out compensation)
• Handle guest inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette, providing accurate information and assistance
• Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction

Requirements

• Prior experience as a host or hostess in food service or restaurant settings is preferred
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and RESY
• Excellent hospitality skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated professionalism in phone etiquette and guest interaction
