Job Title: Financial Analyst

Summary: Synergy Cells is looking for talented individuals to support. In this new high-technology facility, Synergy Cells will cultivate the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. With an investment of over $3.5 billion, Synergy Cells will be producing battery cells.

This role will be onsite supporting our facility in New Carlisle, IN or temporary work location at or near this site.

Role Overview: The Financial Analyst will play a key role in establishing and operating Synergy Cells’ financial, accounting, and business administration processes during the company’s initial setup and operational phases.

This position will support a broad range of activities, including financial closing and reporting, accounting operations, tax and audit coordination, internal controls, budgeting and financial analysis, contract and legal administration, government incentives, ERP implementation, and other operational initiatives.

The Financial Analyst will work closely with internal departments, company leadership, headquarters teams, external advisors, government agencies, and business partners to ensure that financial and administrative processes are accurate, compliant, efficient, and aligned with business requirements.

Because the company is in an early-stage operating environment, the position requires flexibility, strong ownership, and the ability to support cross-functional and ad hoc assignments as business needs evolve.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, financial schedules, and reporting packages.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and support accounting activities related to cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, project expenditures, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
  • Coordinate financial reporting, consolidated reporting, intercompany accounting, and other finance-related requirements with headquarters and affiliated companies.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies, standard operating procedures, approval authorities, documentation standards, and internal controls.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and yearly budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, variance analysis, management reporting, and financial analysis for operating and project-related activities.
  • Coordinate federal, state, and local tax matters, including sales and use tax, property tax, income tax support, tax registrations, filings, information requests, and communications with external tax advisors.
  • Conduct external and internal audits by preparing schedules, gathering supporting documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, testing controls, and assisting with remediation activities.
  • Participate in the implementation, enhancement, and operation of ERP and other financial systems, including SAP, and help ensure appropriate system controls and accurate financial data.
  • Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel on corporate, contractual, regulatory, and administrative matters, including document collection, review coordination, and issue tracking.
  • Support the identification, application, compliance, reporting, and administration of federal, state, and local government incentives, grants, tax abatements, and economic development programs.
  • Participate in the design and improvement of end-to-end business processes, including procurement-to-payment, contract-to-payment, asset management, expense reimbursement, vendor management, and financial approval workflows.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Legal, Procurement, Human Resources, Operations, Engineering, Construction, and other functional teams on company-wide projects and operational matters.
  • Prepare financial presentations, analyses, reports, and decision-support materials for management and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized and complete financial, contractual, regulatory, and corporate records in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
  • Support special projects, business setup activities, and other finance, accounting, administrative, or cross-functional responsibilities as assigned or as business needs evolve.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control principles
  • Experience with monthly closing processes and general ledger operations
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work onsite in New Carlisle, Indiana

Preferred Qualifications

  • Most importantly, a team-oriented mindset, strong sense of responsibility, and enthusiasm for helping establish and grow a new organization.
  • Experience in ERP implementation or system integration projects
  • Familiarity with internal audit or compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, K-SOX)
  • Bilingual in English and Korean preferred but not required

Travel: Ability to travel up to 5% of the time domestically for project related activities, with no disqualification or restrictions for international travel
