JOB SUMMARY
Purpose:
This position is responsible for the day to day account management of Samsung SDI America OEM Electric Vehicle (xEV) customer accounts. The position (i) provides sales and business development to achieve order intake and revenue objectives for the region, (ii) maintains customer relationship, (iii) manages commercial negotiations with the customer, coordinating internally for support and approval, (iv) and conducts sales forecasting for support of annual budgeting and long-term strategic planning.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
- Sales and Order responsibilities include: (i) achieve or exceed Sales and Order goals, and successfully, implement recovery plans as required, (ii) lead the development and execution of opportunity win strategies with comprehensive understanding of the customer needs, competitive landscape and Samsung SDI value proposition, (iii) effectively communicate and influence the organization to submit responsive proposals, and actively participate in successful contract negotiations, (iv) maintain up-to-date information in Customer Relationship Management and Pipeline Management tool for Sales and Order forecasting, and (v) resolve outstanding delivery and Account Receivable issues.
- Key Account Management responsibilities include: (i) owner of customer account at SDIA, (ii) Establish account strategy with team to increase sales, penetration, profitability and customer satisfaction, (iii) manage and develop close relationships across customer organizations to establish preference for Samsung SDI, influence product requirements, decisions, and successfully negotiate contracts with excellent understanding of the customer decision making process, (iii) monitor and identify new products and services required for OEMs and the market and (iv) mobilize account team to resolve significant product or service issues to the satisfaction of the customer and business.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- BS, Engineering or Business degree
- At least 5 years of automotive industry experience supplying components and/or working at STLA, Ford, GM or comparable OEMs or large Tier-1s
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States and a driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years minimum automotive industry sales account management experience
Knowledge of battery technologies and/or EV platform technologies
- Proven track record of sales growth attainment
- Experience in global organizations
- Formal negotiation training and negotiation experience in an automotive context
- Experience in automotive logistics, sales forecasting and budgeting, near and long-term (revenue and strategic planning)
- Understanding of automotive quotation processes and cost breakdown requirements
- MBA desirable

- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
