Staff Engineer

Role and Responsibilities

• Perform semiconductor engineering research, design, development, and testing for firm products and devices in conjunction with product development for the electronic communications industry;
• Act as Subject Matter Expert in many GPU or related semiconductor verification areas;
• Lead and develop verification plans based on Samsung's GPU architecture specifications and design requirements;
• Define verification strategies, methodologies, and metrics to ensure thorough validation of the GPU functionality;
• Lead the development of advanced verification environments and testbenches using SystemVerilog and UVM (Universal Verification Methodology);
• Implement constrained random testing, coverage-driven verification, and assertion based verification techniques;
• Solve challenging problems and ensure comprehensive functional and performance coverage by creating complex test scenarios and test cases to validate GPU features, performance, and functionality;
• Debugging efforts to identify and resolve design issues and performance bottlenecks;
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with design and software teams to analyse failures and implement corrective actions;
• Thrive on challenging past practices and navigating the unknown through innovation;
• Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline verification processes, improve efficiency, and reduce time-to-market;
• Drive teams to work towards verification closure by achieving coverage goals (functional coverage, code coverage, etc.) and sign-off criteria; and
• Generate comprehensive verification reports and documentation

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in a GPU verification or related semiconductor role working with each of the following: SystemVerilog, UVM, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl); GPU architecture, graphics pipelines, and parallel processing; industry-standard verification tools and methodologies; Problem-solving and debugging; General purpose Object-Oriented Programming using C /Java; Performance profiling and analysis; Hardware modeling; and Graphics API: Vulcan, GLES, OpenCL.

Alternate Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and eight (8) years of experience in a GPU verification or related semiconductor role working with each of the following: SystemVerilog, UVM, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl); GPU architecture, graphics pipelines, and parallel processing; industry-standard verification tools and methodologies; Problem-solving and debugging; General purpose Object-Oriented Programming using C /Java; Performance profiling and analysis; Hardware modeling; and Graphics API: Vulcan, GLES, OpenCL.

Total Rewards

At Samsung - SARC/ACL, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $229,350.00 - $251,760.00. Your actual base pay will depend on variables that may include your education skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. This is an exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

In addition, regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) are eligible for MBO bonus compensation, based on company, division, and individual performance.

Additionally, this role might be eligible to participate in long term incentive plan and relocation.
