About the Role
Samsung E&C America, Inc. (SECAI) is currently leading the construction of a state-of-the-art semiconductor Foundry FAB in Taylor, Texas. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our Electrical Project Control Team. While technical expertise in quantity surveying is valued, this role specifically requires a candidate who is highly proficient in both English and Korean. We are looking for a professional capable of providing seamless interpretation during high-level meetings with partner companies. Responsibilities
- Interpretation & Communication: Act as the primary English-Korean interpreter during meetings with partners and stakeholders to ensure clear communication of technical and contractual requirements.
- Documentation: Manage document production for reviews and submittals; review and approve Request for Approval (RFA) documents to ensure compliance with owner and jurisdictional specifications.
- Data Management: Execute data input and transfer into Samsung C&T’s and the Client's knowledge management systems; perform quality assurance checks on all data sources.
- Contract & Proposal Review: Review supplier and subcontractor proposals for adherence to RFP and contract quality requirements; approve quality program manuals and certifications.
- Project Controls: Accumulate and compile accurate quantity installation data; provide meaningful and accurate historical data for project tracking.
- Quality Acceptance: Provide final quality acceptance for work/materials and ensure all quality documentation is in place prior to the release of retention and final payments.
Qualifications
- Linguistic Skills (REQUIRED): Absolute fluency in English and Korean (Both written and oral). Must be capable of professional-grade interpretation in a construction/business setting.
- Education: Completion of a four-year college degree (Electrical Engineering degree preferred).
- Experience: 5 years of experience in the construction profession is preferred, but candidates with exceptional interpretation skills and basic construction knowledge will be strongly considered.
- Technical Skills: Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with project management and document tracking software is a plus.
- Attributes: High level of accuracy and self-checking; ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and partner companies.
