Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. Experience is required in sale of eyeglasses. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support in an optical setting. You will assist with various tasks related to patient interactions, optical sales, and maintaining medical records, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.
Duties
- Greet patients and assist them with their needs upon arrival.
- Gather and record patient information, including medical history and vital signs.
- Assist with the selection of eyewear and provide recommendations based on individual needs.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Support the optometrist during examinations by preparing necessary equipment and instruments.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
- Handle sales transactions and manage inventory of optical products.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Familiarity with medical records management is essential for maintaining accurate documentation.
- Understanding of physiology can enhance patient interactions and care.
- Experience in senior care or pediatrics is a plus, as it helps cater to diverse patient needs.
- Sales experience in retail settings is beneficial for assisting customers effectively.
- Proficiency in retail math to manage transactions accurately.
- Previous laboratory or optical experience is advantageous but not required.
