What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Development Coordinator position at Sammys Mission?
Sammy’s Mission is a non-profit organization in the Upstate of South Carolina that specializes in Christ-centered Men’s Transition Homes for those who have recently achieved sobriety from substance addiction.
Job Responsibilities
- Database management (e.g. updating new contact information, periodic audits to ensure accuracy of the database, takes the lead on all donation and membership payment processing, including data entry into DonorSnap including checks and online payments, and sending out acknowledgement letters).
- Provides as-needed assistance with various events and meetings throughout the year including quarterly Board Meetings, Fundraisers and other events
- Reserves space and meals for staff and Board events such as monthly resident outings, Board Meetings, visitors, etc.
- Prospect research (donors, grants, foundations, sponsors).
- Completes filings to maintain all state charitable registrations.
- Ensure that Sammy's Mission website and Facebook page are updated as needed.
- Other administrative, clerical, and project duties as needed.
- Developing and Distributing marketing materials such as emails and mailers.
- Assist in Grant Writing
- Assist in Fundraising Ideas and Implementation
Qualifications / Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Quickbooks required.
- Proficiency in Donor Snap and/or similar donor management system required.
- Experience with state charitable registration/filing preferred. Detail-oriented, strong sensitivity to deadlines, multitasking ability, strong organizational and problem-solving skills a must.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A 2 or 4-year degree in a related field from an accredited college or university preferred
- 1-2 years of administrative experience strongly preferred, preferably in development or at a nonprofit organization.
Working Hours/Pay
- Part Time Hours, approximately 20-25 hours/week.
- Evenings, Weekends and Holidays as ministry needs demand but will be minimal.
- Hourly pay starting at $17.00/hour depending on experience
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
