Remote Patient Coordinator – Dental Office | Shreveport, LA

Saminity
Shreveport, LA Remote Full Time
POSTED ON 8/8/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/5/2026

A well-established, high-volume family dental practice in Shreveport, LA is looking for a bubbly, hardworking Remote Patient Coordinator to support the front office from home. This person will be the friendly voice patients hear when confirming appointments or checking on insurance. This role is fully remote and focused on scheduling, insurance verification, and patient communication.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

You log into the secure remote system from your home office, coffee in hand, and pull up the day's schedule. First up is verifying insurance for the next few days of appointments, so the front-of-house team has everything needed before patients walk in. Then you are working the phones, confirming tomorrow's visits, rescheduling a patient who needs to move an appointment, and helping someone understand payment options for treatment the dental assistants recommended. You stay in close contact with the in-office team throughout the day, keeping the schedule aligned and stepping in wherever a patient needs a friendly voice on the other end of the line. It is steady, detail-oriented work. You are never in the building, but patients always feel like you are.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Scheduling & Confirmations

  • Coordinate and manage the doctor's daily schedule to keep patient flow on track.
  • Book, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments by phone and text in a timely, organized manner.
  • Send appointment reminders and confirmations to reduce no-shows and late cancellations.

Insurance & Patient Records

  • Verify dental insurance benefits and eligibility ahead of scheduled appointments.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date digital patient charts.
  • Support the clinical assistant team in preparing insurance narratives to support timely claims processing.

Financial Coordination & Patient Communication

  • Explain payment options and financial arrangements clearly and compassionately by phone, leading with what matters to the patient.
  • Serve as a friendly, informed resource for patient questions about scheduling, insurance, and payment.

Remote Collaboration & Communication

  • Stay in close, real-time contact with the in-office front desk and clinical team to keep the schedule aligned.
  • Communicate proactively and flag scheduling or insurance issues before they affect patient care.
  • Maintain a reliable, distraction-free home workspace during all scheduled hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in remote customer service, healthcare administration, or a similar phone-based role is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Dentrix and/or dental insurance verification is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and phone etiquette.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Bubbly, upbeat, and genuinely enjoys working with people, even over the phone.
  • Hardworking and dependable, with a strong sense of ownership over daily tasks.
  • Organized with sharp attention to detail, especially with patient information and scheduling.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently from a home office.
  • Comfortable following established procedures and check-in routines consistently, even without in-person oversight.
  • Calm and even-tempered, especially when plans shift unexpectedly.
  • Proactive and direct, flagging questions or issues early rather than letting them sit, which matters even more when working remotely.
