Job Summary

Duties

• Lead the preparation and presentation of high-quality Italian dishes, ensuring consistency and excellence in every plate served.
• Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies, controlling costs, and minimizing waste through effective inventory control practices.
• Implement and maintain food safety sanitizing procedures in compliance with health regulations to ensure a safe dining environment.
• Manage food production schedules, coordinate catering events, and oversee banquet services when required.
• Develop menus in collaboration with management that reflect authentic Italian cuisine while considering dietary restrictions and customer preferences.
• Monitor kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring smooth workflow, timely service, and high standards of food quality.
• Train team members on food handling techniques, cooking methods, and safety protocols to promote continuous improvement.
• Control costs related to food production by managing portion sizes, waste reduction, and efficient resource utilization.
• Collaborate with restaurant management on shift management, customer service standards, and overall restaurant performance.

Experience

• Proven culinary experience within the food industry, with a minimum of five years working in busy restaurant settings.
• Extensive background in fine dining environments with a focus on Italian cuisine.
• Demonstrated supervising experience managing kitchen teams in high-volume establishments.
• Prior experience in banquet catering or large-scale event food service is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, inventory management, and cost control measures.
• Familiarity with menu planning, food production processes, and kitchen management systems.
• Experience overseeing dietary accommodations and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
• Leadership skills that inspire teamwork while maintaining high standards of hospitality and service excellence.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
