Summary

Sambatek is looking for an entry-level Project Engineer to join our transportation team. In this role, you’ll work closely with experienced engineers to support a variety of transportation projects for county and state clients. You’ll help prepare project documents, learn industry standards and processes, and build your skills while contributing to meaningful work.

  • Work Location: Hybrid, in office for training phase
  • Expected Compensation Range: $31.25-37.00 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
  • Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to highway projects in preliminary design phase or plan development phase
  • Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes
  • Participate in quality review processes
  • Perform CAD drafting in OpenRoads Designer
  • Perform subtasks for a task lead or project manager as part of a collaborative team
  • Spend time in the field, in addition to the office, to perform construction inspection, material testing, and see transportation project sites to grow as a designer
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
  • Basic working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer preferred
  • 3D corridor modeling experience preferred
  • Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage tasks on a project with strong attention to detail

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment
  • Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
