This is a high-impact individual contributor role with direct access to C-level leadership, clients, and partners—offering the rare opportunity to build design strategy from the ground up in an organization ready for transformation.WHAT YOU'LL DO Product Design OwnershipTake full ownership of UI/UX for our unified client reporting portal, transforming an internal interface into an intuitive, data-rich experience for clients and partnersConduct user research with clients and internal stakeholders to understand pain points, workflows, and opportunitiesDesign end-to-end experiences from information architecture through high-fidelity prototypes and implementation specsEstablish design systems, patterns, and standards that scale across the platformBrand Integration Partner closely with marketing to ensure the portal authentically reflects our brand identity, voice, and valuesBridge the gap between marketing assets and product experience, creating visual and experiential consistencyDefine how brand elements translate into functional product designStrategy & Foundation BuildingCreate our UI/UX strategy from scratch—you'll define the vision, approach, and roadmap, with support from your Chief Product OfficerPresent design rationale and recommendations directly to C-level executivesEstablish design processes, tools, and workflows that position us for future team growthAdvocate for user-centered design principles across the organizationWHO YOU ARE 5 years in product design with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex B2B or data-heavy applicationsDeep understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and visual design fundamentalsProven ability to work independently while influencing cross-functional teamsExperience designing reporting, analytics, or dashboard interfaces is highly valuableTrack record of building design strategy in early-stage or transformation environmentsComfortable with ambiguity and skilled at creating structure where none existsAbility to balance quick wins with long-term visionExceptional presentation skills with experience communicating design decisions to executive audiencesSkilled at gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders and translating them into coherent design solutionsComfortable being the sole design voice in the room and confidently advocating for usersExpert-level skills in Figma (or equivalent design tools)Understanding of front-end development constraints and opportunitiesFamiliarity with design systems and component-based designWHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE This isn't a role where you'll execute someone else's vision or work within established guidelines. If you thrive on building rather than maintaining, this role offers that opportunity.Samba TV expects to offer a base salary between $150,000 - $190,000 USD per year for roles to be performed in New York or California; actual base salary offered will depend on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Base salary is just one component of Samba TV’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses, short-term incentives and long-term incentives.
