Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication reminders and accurately follow care plans while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Operate (if needed) medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices safely and effectively
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient progress, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support clients with cognitive impairments like dementia or Alzheimer’s through memory care techniques and compassionate engagement
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social interaction
Experience
- Prior experience working in home care settings, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation, medication reminders, and HIPAA regulations
- Hands-on experience with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, or other cognitive or physical disabilities preferred but not required
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring long-term support
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is additional certifications such as Hoyer lift training or nursing assistant credentials are a plus
- Experience in meal preparation, cleaning, and general home & community care enhances your ability to provide comprehensive support
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks as needed to assist clients effectively
