Lead Cook (Culinary Chef Supervisor)
Wage Range: $21.99 - $25.54, we honor based on years of relevant experience
Schedule: FULL TIME 11:00am-7:30pm, includes every other weekend
Job description:
As a Culinary Service Chef at Samaritan Bethany, you will:
- Prepares meals in accordance with planned menu, and in accordance with sanitary regulations and organization policies and procedures.
- Prepares food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus and production sheets.
- Prepares food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
- Responsible to ensure that food is prepared, cooked, or stored under appropriate temperatures and with safe food handling techniques.
- Prepares food in a form to meet individual needs of the residents.
- Ensures that food storage areas are clean and properly arranged at all times.
- Ensures that food and supplies for the next meal are thawed and prepared in advance as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- One year of experience as a cook preferred, especially within a long term care facility or hospital.
- One year of experience supervising staff, preferably in culinary services.
- Knowledge of the basic skills, techniques, and fundamentals of food service management, quality food production and therapeutic nutrition.
