English Instructor (Part-Time) – S.A.M & S.A.E Learning Center | South Windsor, CT
Pay:
- $18/hour (initial training/onboarding period up to 3 months)
- Increase to $20–$25/hour based on teaching performance
Hours: 3–15 hours/week
Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday: 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Saturday: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

About Us
S.A.M Singapore Math of South Windsor is part of a global network of 200 centers focused on building strong academic foundations.
Our S.A.E English Program develops:

What You’ll Do
- Teach small groups (ages 4–12) using a structured curriculum
- Guide students through reading, phonics, and writing progression
- Identify and address individual learning gaps
- Review and provide feedback on student work
- Communicate regularly with the center director on progress
This role is focused on teaching and skill development, not homework help.
Compensation Growth
- Starts at $18/hour during initial training
- Progression to $20–$25/hour based on performance
- Typical progression occurs within up to 3 months, with many instructors advancing sooner
Performance is based on:
- Leading a small group independently (up to 4 students)
- Delivering clear, structured instruction
- Accuracy in correcting student work
- Classroom management and engagement
Strong candidates who demonstrate readiness early may advance faster.
Additional Responsibility (Cross-Training)
Instructors will also be trained in the S.A.M Math program to:
- Support basic math instruction when needed
- Substitute for math classes in case of teacher absence
What We’re Looking For
Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong command of English (reading, writing, grammar)
- Experience working with children
Preferred:
- Teaching or tutoring experience
- Background in education or English
