Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries and purchases
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Conduct product demos when applicable to engage customers and increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with accuracy
- Assist in inventory management including stocking and restocking merchandise
- Ensure the store maintains a clean and organized appearance at all times
- Use phone etiquette skills to answer customer questions over the phone professionally
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members when needed, fostering a collaborative environment
Experience
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, to effectively interact with diverse customers
- Experience in product demos, upselling, merchandising, and stock management is advantageous
- Supervising experience is beneficial but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
