What you'll do
As a Senior Director, Merchandise Strategy, Sam’s Club, you will play a crucial role in driving the strategic development and implementation of store prototypes. Your responsibilities will include:
Lead Strategic Business Initiatives:
Identify, align, and secure cross-functional resources to implement business initiatives.
Identify opportunities across business units to add value and ensure the execution of initiatives.
Provide updates to executive management on the progress and impact of strategic initiatives.
Oversee Research and Analysis:
Evaluate the relevance of departmental projects to specific store groups and webpages.
Provide recommendations for increased performance and monitor the implementation of revised programs and projects.
Develop and Implement Joint Business Plans:
Oversee Merchandising Strategies:
Direct data gathering and research strategies to grow loyalty, shopping frequency, and basket size.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend changes to existing merchandising strategies.
Provide Overall Direction:
Analyze business objectives and customer needs to develop and implement business strategies.
Evaluate operational processes and measure outcomes to ensure desired results.
Promote a customer-centric environment and demonstrate adaptability and continuous learning.
Develop Workforce Strategies:
Diagnose capability gaps and recruit, select, and develop talent.
Support mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning.
Leverage the capabilities of new and existing talent to maintain a skilled and engaged workforce.
Cultivate a Culture of Integrity and Ethics:
Integrate company standards of integrity and ethics into all programs and practices.
Develop consequences for violations and support the Open Door Policy.
Develop and Leverage Partnerships:
Sponsor and lead key community outreach and involvement initiatives.
Engage key stakeholders in the development and execution of business plans and initiatives.
What you'll bring
Leadership and Strategic Vision:
Experience in managing and growing new products and initiatives from infancy to hyper-growth.
Ability to build and align strategies with leadership direction.
Business Development Expertise:
8 years of experience in business development, strategic sales, and the retail industry.
Strong skills in business strategy, project management and negotiation.
Financial Acumen:
Proficiency in managing P&L and utilizing performance data to drive strategic roadmaps.
Communication and Collaboration:
Excellent communication skills to convey data and information clearly.
Ability to work collaboratively and execute projects independently.
Problem-Solving and Innovation:
Passion for solving customer/member problems and driving loyalty through innovative solutions.
Experience in membership, subscription, or loyalty programs, with marketing and eCommerce experience as a plus.
Project Management:
Demonstrated experience in managing and influencing large matrixed teams effectively.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$320,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
