Responsibilities
Performs highly complex administrative and supervisory program work for SHSU Online. The Research, Communication, and Support sub-unit advances the mission of Online Instructional Development and SHSU Online by promoting evidence-based digital teaching and learning practices, driving clear and consistent communication across the institution, and supporting compliance, accessibility, and institutional success across the Texas State University System and beyond. Directly influences new hire retention, faculty accessibility compliance, online faculty readiness and professional learning connections, and institutional rankings.Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in the organization and coordination of the annual virtual conference and professional development event to share best practices in digital teaching and support instructor growth. Collaborates with the SHSU Online group to coordinate and publish content covering new trends in online education, online program insights, tools and services, accessibility, and training/faculty development. Promotes accessible course design across all TSUS shared services institutions by maintaining a digital learning hub housing high-quality open educational resources (OER) related to digital learning, instructional technology, and e-learning methodologies. Participates in “Fix Your Content” accessibility events. Assists with the annual US News & World Report Data Collection cycle to support Online Best ranking. Manages the Blackboard Onboard Organization in partnership with relevant teams to facilitate seamless transitions, provides vital resources, fosters engagement, and builds a foundation for long-term retention and institutional connection of new employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.Other Specifications:
