Usual Duties
Conduct the University Wind Ensemble. Teach graduate courses and undergraduate classes such as music education, conducting, and others as needed by the School of Music and according to the candidates strengths and experience. Work collaboratively with the team of band directors in the overall administration of the university band program. Collaborate with the music education faculty to build and maintain a productive relationship with public school music programs. Recruit students for the School of Music. Additional opportunities include assisting with The Center for Music Educations professional development workshops and the Master of Arts in Band Studies summer program.
Degree Requirements
Doctorate in Music degree required. Masters degree in music with significant professional experience may be considered in lieu of the doctorate.
Experience Requirements
History as an artist conductor with a strong commitment to education. Experience in Texas secondary music education is desirable, and experience at both the secondary and university levels is preferred.

All School of Music faculty members are expected to maintain a record of service and creative/scholarly productivity that indicates continuing growth of national and international visibility. The applicant must work cooperatively in a dynamic environment and be committed to undergraduate education and student success.
