The Department of Psychology and Philosophy in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical Psychology beginning in the Fall of 2026.
This is an annual 9-month, tenure-track appointment. Summer teaching contracts may be available depending on department needs. The person filling this position will serve as a core faculty member of theSHSUClinical Psychology Masters program.
Degree Requirements
Candidates should have a Doctoral degree in Psychology and must be a licensed mental health practitioner (e.g., LP,LPA,LPC,LCSW,LSSP) or eligible for such licensure in the state of Texas. Applications from individuals who areABDwill be considered, but the Doctoral degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Experience Requirements
The department seeks an applicant with interests and expertise in clinical psychology to contribute to its masters and undergraduate programs. Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as needed; developing a productive research program and mentoring undergraduate and Masters students; and serving on the Masters Psychology Programs Committee. Candidates must be committed to a student-centered approach and have a passion for teaching and mentoring college students.
