Teaching Position Announcement
Sam Houston Elementary School is seeking an Elementary Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
This is a full-time position with benefits.
Certification: K-6 Tennessee Department of Education certification with proof of highly qualified status and related work experience.
Qualities of a Desired Candidate Include:
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Desire to build positive relationships with students and their families
- Complete understanding of K-3 Tennessee Curriculum
- Comfortable in using data resources such as iReady, Aims Web, STAR Reading, etc. and the ability to share results to appropriate stakeholders
- Approach to using both formative and summative assessment data to drive instruction
- Possess confidence in integrating technology into instruction and as a means of effective two-way communication with all stakeholders
- Understanding of student learning styles, age-appropriate instructional strategies, and educational best practices
- Work with students to develop life skills that will help them overcome academic, social, and behavioral concerns
- Desire to organize, participate and attend after-school and evening programming such as performances, parent meetings, curriculum nights, open houses, and other school-wide activities
- Possesses honesty, integrity, professionalism
- All applicants must be able to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g., lifting 50 pounds regularly, sitting for extended periods, walking, seeing, standing for extended periods, etc.).
FLSA: Exempt
