What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Paralegal (Hybrid Flexibility) position at Sam Bernstein Law?
The Sam Bernstein Law Firm is seeking a dynamic experienced Paralegal to work with litigation teams. Plaintiff experience is a plus. This position has the ability to work hybrid after training.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Compose discovery requests and responses
- Obtain authorizations from clients for medical records, medical reposts and other documentation related to the case
- Frequent communication with clients to verity information when answering discovery
- Obtain medical bills and other documents from medical providers
- Research case law, locating defendants and motor vehicle registration searches with LexisNexis
- Review incoming mail to determine urgency and work with attorneys accordingly
- Effectively compose various legal documentation
- Maintain attorney calendar as well as maintain diary and tickler dates appropriately. Review calendar daily and proactively handle upcoming events
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, local court/jurisdiction rules and adhere to law office procedures
- Accurate and efficient keyboarding skills
Qualifications and Skills:
- Software skills including intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures (including e-filing)
- Must be able to multi-task, possess excellent communication skills (written and oral) and be a team player
- Well organized and able to prioritize in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with large team
- Strong understanding of Personal Injury, especially Auto 1st and 3rd
- Excellent writing, grammar, proofreading skills and overall attention to detail
