Job Description:

We are seeking an MSN, PhD, or DNP prepared nurse to Instruct In the undergraduate program. This position Is a 9-month non-tenure track position with the title of Lecturer, Nursing. This position Involves a 4/3 teaching load with a variety of courses in nursing Including classroom, clinical, and simulation responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing education, clinical experience in acute care settings, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a full-time course load during the academic year.
  • Constructing and maintaining course content through the university learning management system.
  • Maintain established curricula that appropriately reflect current knowledge in the discipline Including the Impact of cultural diversity Issues on course content and Instructional practices.
  • Advising undergraduate nursing students.
  • Attend regular University, department, and program meetings.
  • Participates In preparing accreditation, course, and curriculum reviews as needed.
  • Provides the evaluation of students in both didactic and clinical courses.
  • Reviews student evaluation summaries of assigned courses and utilizes the feedback for planning and implementing future courses.

Job Requirements:


Required Qualifications:

  • MSN from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unencumbered Rhode Island Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to teaching, curriculum development, and student evaluation.
  • Clinical nursing experience, preferably in acute care settings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to working with and supporting a diverse student population.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD or DNP in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Prior teaching experience in undergraduate nursing education.
  • Experience teaching in classroom, clinical, and/or simulation environments.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and instructional technologies.
  • Experience with academic advising of undergraduate nursing students.
  • Participation in accreditation, curriculum review, or program assessment activities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices and culturally responsive pedagogy.
