We are seeking a dynamic, tenure-track Nursing Faculty member to join the nursing program at Salve Regina University. This position involves a 4/3 teaching load including classroom, clinical, and simulation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Maternal/Child Health, nursing education, clinical experience in the obstetrical setting and an ability to work with a diverse student body.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide in-person classroom, clinical, and simulation instruction for undergraduate nursing courses.
- Engage students in active learning and foster a collaborative classroom environment.
- Offer academic advising and mentoring to nursing students, guiding them through their academic journey and career development.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing curriculum to ensure it meets the highest academic standards and reflects current industry practices.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publications, and presentations at local, state, and national conferences.
- Maintain professional competence through continuous scholarship and professional development, including contributing to professional organizations, public service, and developing the nursing discipline.
- Serve on Department of Nursing and University committees, contributing to the advancement of departmental initiatives.
- Model professionalism, kindness, and collaboration in all interactions with colleagues, students, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate clinical groups
Job Requirements:
Required:
- Doctoral degree in nursing (PhD, DNP, Ed.D in Nursing Education). Note: Applicants with a master's degree in nursing, who expect to complete a terminal degree within one year, may be considered for a continuing instructor position.
- Relevant clinical experience in Maternal/Child Health
- Must hold an unrestricted Rhode Island RN License or be eligible for the same. Eligibility for MA RN license is acceptable.
- AHA BLS certified
- NRP certification
Preferred:
- Full-time classroom teaching experience at the baccalaureate level or higher preferred. Full-time experience teaching in the ADN program will be considered if coupled with a strong record of scholarship.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching Maternal/Child Health Nursing.
- Familiarity with the online Learning Management System (LMS) Canvas and the ability to integrate appropriate technology into teaching.
- Simulation experience with Laerdal equipment a plus.
