What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Coordinator position at Salvation Army A Georgia Corp?
Coordinates pick-up, storage and distribution for the warehouse; ensures merchandise, donations, and supplies are received, sorted, and distributed in an efficient manner; takes precautions to secure warehouse contents against loss; monitors inventory on hand; reviews distribution documents; coordinates maintenance of vehicle fleet; helps coordinate the work performed by employees, beneficiaries, and/or community service workers in the warehouse and assists when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitors the arrival and distribution of all donations ensuring that items reach the appropriate destination in a timely manner.- Ensures that the warehouse is clean, properly maintained, and secured at all times
- Contacts individuals and arranges for pick-ups related to food drives, clothing drives, etc.
- Maintains inventory of items in storage; notifies designated purchaser of items needing to be ordered.
- Helps coordinate the packing of food bags for social services clients; monitors delivery of food bags to social services daily.
- Arranges for needed and authorized storage for Salvation Army units/groups.
- Serves as liaison to kitchen and Program Managers; provides and delivers items needed from the warehouse; alerts kitchen of any food donations for immediate use.
- Acts as liaison to external agencies, other Salvation Army locations, etc.; builds and maintains working relationships with them.
- Participates in warehouse activities including sorting, packing, loading, unloading, cleaning, food pantry, and driving as needed.
- Processes requests from the Corps administration for furnishings, equipment, and supplies that are available from warehouse inventory.
- Handles mail pick-up and delivery.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.- Ability to read, write and communicates the English language effectively.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and some climbing.
- Ability to drive a heavy-duty truck.
- Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, and lifting. Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.
- Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (more than 50 lbs.) frequently.
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required,
and
- Three years experience performing logistics in a warehouse environment, and driving a heavy-duty truck and forklift,
and
- Ability to pass all TDCJ background checks.
Certifications:
- Valid State Drivers License
- Forklift Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
