Role Specifics


The Vice President of Wealth Management will lead and oversee the Credit Union's wealth management division, driving strategic growth and delivering exceptional financial advisory services to Credit Union members. The VP will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate wealth management solutions that align with clients' financial goals and the institution's objectives. Additionally, the role involves mentoring and developing a team of wealth management professionals to enhance service quality and operational efficiency. Ultimately, the VP will be responsible for expanding the program's market presence and maintaining its reputation as a trusted advisor in wealth management services.


Functions and Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute the overall strategy for Wealth Management that aligns with Gulf Winds’ mission and growth goals. Identify new opportunities, partnerships, and services to expand member value and assets under management while maintaining a competitive edge in the market.


  • Drive revenue growth through effective member segmentation, targeted relationship strategies, and tailored financial solutions. Set measurable goals for AUM, client acquisition, and retention, and ensure consistent progress toward achieving them.


  • Oversee delivery of comprehensive financial planning, investment, and trust services. Ensure an exceptional member experience through personalized advice, proactive communication, and a strong fiduciary focus that builds lasting member trust.


  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Wealth Management team. Foster collaboration, accountability, and professional growth through ongoing training, mentorship, and performance management that supports both individual and organizational success.


  • Ensure all wealth management operations meet regulatory, ethical, and policy standards. Partner with Compliance and Legal to maintain risk controls, monitor audits, and uphold a culture of transparency and accountability.


Performance Measurements


  • Achieves targeted year-over-year increases in total assets under management through effective business development and retention strategies.


  • Meets or exceeds annual revenue and profitability goals for the Wealth Management division while maintaining cost efficiency.


  • Ensures exceptional member service as reflected in retention rates, satisfaction surveys, and referral growth.


  • Demonstrates consistent success in attracting new members to the Wealth Management program through internal referrals and external relationship development.


  • Maintains full regulatory compliance with minimal or no audit findings, demonstrating strong adherence to policies and fiduciary standards.


  • Improves accuracy, turnaround times, and workflow effectiveness through process improvements and technology integration.


  • Builds a high-performing, engaged team reflected in performance evaluations, retention rates, and professional certification achievements.


  • Increases referrals and shared member relationships between Wealth Management and other business units, contributing to overall organizational growth.


Knowledge and Skills

 

Experience: Eight to ten years of similar or related experience.

 

Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., wealth management certifications in lieu of a degree).

 

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

 

Other Skills: The VP of Wealth Management will utilize strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and client portfolios, ensuring optimal investment strategies are implemented. Leadership and interpersonal skills are essential for mentoring the team and building trusted client relationships. Effective communication skills will be used daily to articulate complex financial concepts clearly to clients and internal stakeholders. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities will guide business development efforts and operational improvements. Additionally, proficiency with financial software and regulatory knowledge will support compliance and reporting responsibilities, ensuring the branch operates efficiently and within legal frameworks.

 

Physical Requirements: This role requires sitting at a computer for most of the day. This role would also require the ability to file files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Work Environment: The position is based in-office in our Pensacola, Florida market, operates primarily in an office setting, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.


This position requires consistent presence in the office to collaborate with team members and fulfill job responsibilities effectively. It requires the ability to actively participate in conference calls and meetings with other Credit Union team members and vendors.


The normal expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. After-hours work or travel required to meet project deadlines or attend conferences, seminars, or meetings.
