Join our dynamic team as a Local Hazmat Tanker Driver and take charge of transporting hazardous materials safely and efficiently across designated local routes. This energetic role offers the opportunity to operate specialized tanker trucks, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to strict safety and regulatory standards. As a key player in our logistics operation, you’ll be responsible for handling hazardous goods with precision, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Duties

• Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with tanker and refrigerated trailers to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials within local areas.
• Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or specialized equipment, ensuring secure placement and compliance with safety protocols.
• Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, adhering to designated delivery schedules and route plans for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
• Maintain accurate logs of all deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, including checking for leaks, proper labeling of dangerous goods, tire condition, brakes, lights, and safety equipment.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods by following proper documentation procedures and safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, and emergency responders as needed during deliveries or in case of incidents.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers preferred.
• Certification in Hazmat transportation and hazardous materials regulations; prior experience handling dangerous goods is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving with manual transmission vehicles.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazard communication protocols, and safety procedures related to tanker trucks and hazardous cargo.
• Ability to manually handle cargo loads safely using appropriate equipment.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and route driving efficiency.
• Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes including truck loading/unloading and freight management.
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, attention to detail, and adherence to all traffic laws including DOT regulations.

Pay: $1,500.00 - $1,800.00 per week
