Summary

Assist Engineers by performing technical work consisting of compiling, computing, evaluating, and reporting engineering information. Performs office and/or field technical work, recommends action on plans and procedures, and develops equipment and material specification. Work involves the application of mathematical and technical knowledge gained through training and experience and requires judgment in the execution of assignments. Specific tasks will vary by department and division.

What You'll Do

  • Supports the engineering staff in maintaining the maintenance programs and modification of existing programs.
  • Writes, tests, and maintains the maintenance programs for various uses.
  • Assists engineers and analysts in the preparation and analysis of system planning studies, reports and presentations.
  • Is project leader for projects, has primary design responsibility, and coordinates efforts of other SRP groups.
  • Contacts outside agencies, such as utilities, government agencies, developers, engineers, manufactures, vendors and others.
  • Provides technical assistance on special projects as required by supervision.
  • Assists engineers in the preparation and analysis, studies, reports and presentations.
  • Provides engineering support and technical expertise to other departments.

Additional Requirements

  • A minimum of two years experience using Cascade, SAP and Microsoft Suite software preferred.
  • Technical knowledge on procuring parts for substation equipment
  • Capable of performing substation site audits independently inside substations

Experience

Position Level and Placement: This position may be filled at one of three levels outlined below, based on the candidate's relevant education, experience, or a combination of both that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and competencies. Level I: Candidates with up to 3 years of relevant education, experience, or a combination of both. Level 2: Candidates with more than 3 years but less than 6 years of relevant education, experience, or a combination of both. Senior Level: Candidates with 6 or more years of relevant education, experience, or a combination of both.

Education

A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.

Additional Requirements And Qualifications

College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred. Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
