Job Overview
Diagnose, repair and perform maintenance on gas and diesel powered mobile equipment. Adjust, rebuild or replace with new parts on powertrain systems, braking systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and HVAC systems. Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication and servicing on mobile equipment. Perform tire maintenance and new replacement on mobile equipment. Reports to Garage Supervisor.
Responsibilities
· Wear required safety equipment including but not limited to hardhats, face shields safety glasses, safety harness, ear plugs, dust masks and gloves
· Remain stationary for considerable amounts of time in various positions or cramped spaces
· Able to do repetitious arm, hand and leg motion
· Able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders
· Use of both hands and have full motion of arms and hands
· Maneuver above and under equipment
· Able to do bending, kneeling, and twisting
· Able to lift 100 pounds
· Required and predictable attendance
· Two to three years of mechanical experience in auto, construction and heavy equipment repair preferred
· Understand and follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
· Able to read, write and communicate clearly for record keeping
· Know basic computer skills for documentation of mobile equipment
· Maintain a valid driver license
· Ability to Adjust, rebuild and replace parts on mobile equipment
· Ability to cut, weld and fabricate to maintain equipment
· Ability to work weekends, nights, call outs, overtime, and holidays
· Work on gas and diesel engines, powertrain systems, braking systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and HVAC systems
· Diagnose equipment malfunctions and take corrective action to eliminate costly repairs
· Perform tire maintenance and new tire replacement on mobile equipment
· Lubricate and service mobile equipment
· Furnish your own required hand tools
· Complete reports as requested
· Keep work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
· Perform lubricator job in case of lubricator’s absence
· Communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers, other company personnel and vendors
· Able to perform work area clean-up
· Perform other assigned work incidental to this classification
Pay: $21.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
