Summary
Repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment. Position reports to Electrical Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Wear required safety equipment including but not limited to hardhats, safety glasses, safety harness, ear plugs, dust masks, and gloves
- This is a safety sensitive position to be performed with a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner
- Ascend and descend stairs and ladders
- Able to bend, kneel, twist in confined spaces and awkward positions for extended periods of time
- Climb up and down, above, inside and under equipment
- Identify colors - electricians work with colored wiring and be able to identify colors by site
- Lift up to 75 pounds correctly
- No fear of height up to 460 feet
- Able to work in inclement weather
- Required and predictable attendance
- Qualified journeyman electrician required with knowledge of hazardous area electrical systems
- Welding experience preferred
- Good verbal and written skills for log keeping
- Understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, sketches and verbal instructions
- Ability to work various shifts as needed including overtime, weekends, holidays and evenings
- Furnish hand tools per tool list
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook required
- Maintain valid driver license
- Understand and follow safety policies and guidelines
- Operate equipment in a safe, responsible manner
- Conduct equipment pre and post checks and report any conditions that need attention to supervisor
- Install and maintain electronic equipment , including closed circuit TV, monitors, intercommunication systems, radio units
- Install and maintain pneumatic and electrical recording, regulating valves
- Routine and frequent inspection of electrical equipment for purpose of determining necessary maintenance and repairs or adjustments to minimize future major repairs
- Install and maintain electrical (pvc, emt, rigid) conduit and associated equipment
- Lay out, construct, assemble, install, test, repair and maintain electrical equipment such as motors, motor controls, control equipment, generators, drives, lighting circuits and fixtures, electrical interlocks, electrical timing devices, switch gear, power cables and substation equipment, replacement of motor brushes and electrical fuses
- Move stackers and reclaimers as required
- Set up and use rigging to handle tools and equipment
- Weld Unistrut J-box brackets
- Requisition parts and equipment from the storeroom
- Maintain records of inspections, cleanings, lubrication and repairs
- Operate forklifts and manlifts
- Operate small cranes and overhead bridge cranes
- Perform clean up in shop and work areas
- Perform other duties incidental to this classification as directed
- Perform job duties of Electrical Technician I
Pay: $ $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
