Coleman Catering is a corporate and private off-site catering operation. Salt & Light Cafe is a full coffee bar, kitchen and bakery. Both are based at 159 Main Street, Groton MA.
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our company. You are required to make various kinds of desserts and breads to meet customer satisfaction. Your baking skills should be excellent and filled with creativity. Also, you are required to follow the health and safety rules to exemplify customer satisfaction at it’s highest.
The Lead Bakery position will manage the day-to-day bread and pastry operations of Salt & Light and Coleman Catering. You will be part of a team that focuses on excellence through team work, creativity, sales and profit objectives, cleanliness, and legendary hospitality.
Accurately prepare, execute, and present breads, bagels, rolls, and other bread items in a timely manner while keeping a positive attitude and work ethic.
Accurately prepare morning and dessert bakery items in a timely manner while keeping a positive attitude and work ethic.
- Assist catering team with preparation and delivery, as needed, during peak seasons.
- Take an active leadership role to enhance our team culture and environment.
- Meet and work with department leaders on upcoming events, work orders and changes.
- Assist in ordering, receiving and sourcing food and supplies from approved providers. Maintain proper storage of food and supplies adhering to all ServSafe, allergen certification and HACCP guidelines.
- Assist in managing food cost through organization, rotation, and utilizing logs, inventory, and other systematic spreadsheets for cost analysis.
- Assist in conceptualizing additions, changes, and improvements to menus and recipes.
- Assist in all general dishes, upkeep, and closing procedures.
- Attend all-staff meetings, as necessary.
- Other tasks and jobs may be required for the overall success of the team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
