Clinical Dietitian

Overview

The Clinical Dietitian plans and delivers nutrition care to patients in accordance with the physician’s diagnosis and requirements of regulatory agencies. functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to provide nutrition counseling for individuals, performs nutrition screening and assessments, and develops appropriate nutrition care plans.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, medical history, and dietary needs.
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans aligned with medical diagnoses and treatment goals.
• Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling using motivational interviewing techniques to motivate behavioral change.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, and therapists to coordinate patient care.
• Manage nutrition support interventions including tube feeding, parenteral nutrition, and other specialized therapies.
• Monitor patient progress through diagnostic evaluation and adjust care plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Document all interventions, assessments, and progress notes accurately within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
• Educate patients and their families on dietary management for chronic diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, or geriatrics.
• Supervise dietetic interns or junior staff members to foster professional development within the dietary department.
• Stay current with advancements in clinical nutrition, physiology knowledge, and healthcare regulations to maintain best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition
• Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetics Registrations
• Good verbal and written communications skills
• Basic computer skills with minimal guidance
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Pay: $28.00 - $42.00 per hour
