What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Assistant Teacher position at Salsbury Family Childcare?
We are looking for a Child Care Assistant Teacher to encourage the healthy intellectual and physical growth of the children in our family child care home. You will aid the teacher and help supervise the children while also motivating them to use their independence and exercise their imagination.
Part time Wednesdays 2:00-6:00, Thursdays and Fridays 10:00-6:00. Days may be flexible. Starting date: ASAP.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children playing inside and in backyard
- Provide basic care and caregiving activities, including diaper changing, potty training, feeding, and cleaning up after the children
- Share duties with colleagues to pick up after children, wash dishes, clean and sanitize play area
- Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child’s abilities
- Remain in communication and collaborate with other colleagues to update them on the progress of the children
- Observe children’s interactions and promote a safe happy environment
- Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations
Skills
- Experience as a child care/daycare teacher appreciated but not required
- Patience, flexibility, and love for children
- Fluent English with strong communication
- Reliable, punctual, and has good time management skills
- Certificate in first aid and CPR is required but may be obtained after hire
- Clear Fingerprint background check with the DOJ and FBI
- TB test and current vaccinations required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.50 per hour
